“Thailand has mobilised about 40,000 security personnel ahead of mass rallies by “red shirt” opposition protesters over the coming days.” – from BBC Well, hello 2008, all over again. Only this time, I’m not in Thailand. Seeing news like this makes me happy I’m no longer living there. But that makes me sad because Thailand [...]
Thailand braces for mass ‘red shirt’ protests
March 11, 2010
Cccccccold.
January 13, 2009
Its apparently really cold in Thailand right now. Something about pressure from China. I can’t help but feel there’s a bad Cold War joke lurking around somewhere but, I’m too tired to care. All I know is that I want to be there. Am exhausted. Will write more on another day. Oh and Eric, I [...]
Want to go…somewhere, anywhere.
January 3, 2009
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3Kd7IGPyeg&hl=en&fs=1] I’m in quite the mood tonight. Tonight, I want to be anywhere but in Singapore. This place sucks, its where all the troubles rise to the top and they seem as inescapable, as unsolvable as ever. This place makes me stay up way too late, writing painful, tortured little poems and listening to depressing [...]
All else considered, the new Thai PM is kind of cute…
December 17, 2008
I don’t like the PAD, I hate the idea that they consider it their right to appoint a government rather than have an elected government because the rural people aren’t sophisticated or educated enough to vote (their words, not mine). The only silver lining I see here is that…the new PM, Abhisit Vejjajiva is kinda [...]
Where I rant at the PAD some more…
December 12, 2008
Got news that our cats will be flying back soon. But since their Thai export permits have expired waiting for the yellow shirts to stop throwing their giant tantrum, they need a new one. Oh and the A*V*A? Has not responded to any e-mails regarding the status of our quarantine reservation. Which I am going [...]
The PAD ends its protests…idiocy, unfortunately, continues
December 3, 2008
Well, the mad hatters have ended their protests. Unfortunately, its because the Prime Minister, Somchai Wongsawat was forced to step down. This is not a good thing. I mean, yes I’ve been yelling at them to quit it already and let my cats come home. But I don’t want the PPP to step down. Seriously. [...]
This is getting out of hand
December 1, 2008
We’re looking at going to Chiangmai by train to get the cats. But to do so, we will have to pass through Malaysia. If anyone can tell us how to go about passing through Malaysia with cats, I’d be grateful. Even more grateful, if you know of ANY airlines flying out of Chiangmai or any [...]
More nonsense from the PAD
December 1, 2008
“argue that the rural majority in the north and the northeast — the Thaksin camp’s political base — is not sophisticated enough to cast ballots responsibly.” You cannot use the word ‘democracy’ if this is how you think. Its not democracy, its a reversion to Victorian England where the working class was not allowed to [...]
Here's something…
November 24, 2008
Here’s a particular shot I’m quite pleased with. I took it while we were traveling along the road outside of our house in Chiangmai. And I took it with the point-and-shoot. Amazingly, it came out quite nice, actually. Damn, I miss that road.
One down…
November 19, 2008
God only knows how many more to go. The cats were put in boarding today and I cannot say what a relief it is. My one fear about boarding is that my cats will be thrown into tiny cramped cages with indifferent attention as seems to be the case for a few animals boarding places [...]
